Statistics Don't Lie....

Ok, the BBQ Fest is over, so let's take a look at the numbers.

Final Rankings:

• Ribs 22 out of 121
• Wings 50 out of 114
• Beef 30 out of 108
• Poultry 69 out of 95
• Exotic 29 out of 72

In the "plus" catagory:

• 75 cases of beer


• Some 15 gallons of liquor


• At least 2 bottles of "grape vodka" ?????


• One bottle of Jaeger


• Pretty sure we all got a contact buzz from the pot being smoked in the booth next door


• We placed 22nd in Ribs, out of about 130


• No one was arrested


• No cars were towed


• Rick worked on the grill for the first time in 10 years (sure it was just adding charcol, but you gotta start somewhere)


• And one pair of boobs exposed in the booth

In the "minus" catagory:

• The tatoos this year were made with the wrong graphic, so it was 2006 Costa Rica all over again


• One pinched nerve (mine)


• We had to borrow someone else's butt for first day competition


• Mike Yoste brought his own music


• No Bud Select


• There are STILL 84 damn stairs up to the parking lot


• Heather B's husband broke his ankle, ala Gary Cail


• Our Ambassador looked like Santa, ate like Santa, but didn't bring us shit in the way of information or help


• Our ribs for blind judging sat for nearly 2 hours before they were sampled


• and...only one pair of boobs exposed in the booth

There really wasn't much more bloodshed than is customary, and we had several "bbq" virgins this year (shout out to Evan, Stacie, Sam, Bill K) who all faired well. Maybe not Evan, but there's next year.

BBQ will be quiet for about 5 months, until Oxford.
